The Higher Studies of Higher Artistic Education in Product Design are guided, fundamentally, by what is established in: DECRETO 48/2011, de 6 de mayo, del Consell (organization of studies).
Within the Spanish QF-EHEA, Marco Español de Cualificaciones (MECES), he Higher Degree of Higher Artistic Education is framed in level 2 (Degree) within the four levels in which Higher Education is structured. The Higher Technician level is level 1, the Degree level is level 2, the Master level is level 3 and the Doctor level is level 4.
The Higher Design Studies comprise four academic years, a total of 240 credits (60 per year), each credit corresponding to 25 hours.
The product designer is a professional capable of projecting, analyzing, researching and determining the physical properties and qualities, as well as the symbolic and communicative values that must characterize his/her productions, defining their form, configuration, quality, functioning, value and their aesthetical, social and environmental significance.
– Development and management of product design in both domestic and urban environments
– Design of ceramic products linked to the productive environment of the area in which the EASD of Castelló is located
– Product design in other fields linked to the general industrial environment: toys, domestic appliances, furniture, systems, etc…
– Design for craftsmanship
– Design for special conditions
– Design, research and development of new concepts, materials, applications and products
– Research and teaching
The curriculum* comprises four academic years of 60 ECTS credits each, with a total of 240 ECTS credits distributed in semester subjects of basic training, specialised training, external internships and the final project.
